Uplinker Ambassador Spotlight: Meet Dat, a Voice for Decentralized Connectivity
Welcome to the very first edition of Uplink’s Ambassador Spotlight, a series dedicated to showcasing the people who bring our mission of global connectivity to life. Uplinker Ambassadors are more than just advocates—they’re community leaders, educators, and builders helping us shape the future of decentralized internet access.
For our inaugural feature, we’re proud to introduce Dat, an Uplink ambassador and community moderator whose curiosity about technology grew into a deep passion for Web3, blockchain, and DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks). His story reflects how one person’s enthusiasm can ripple across a global community.

From Curiosity to Web3 Advocate
Dat is based in Vietnam, where his journey into blockchain began in 2021. A Vietnamese professor working in South Korea first introduced him to the technology, sparking his curiosity. At the time, blockchain was often framed as synonymous with cryptocurrency. But what caught Dat’s attention was something deeper: how blockchain technology intersected with AI, IoT, big data, and even robotics.
The more he learned, the more he recognized blockchain’s potential to reshape digital economies and create opportunities far beyond trading coins.
“The technology itself keeps advancing,” Dat explains. “Understanding its core lets you identify quality projects and long-term opportunities.”
That realization turned casual curiosity into long-term commitment.
Growing with the Blockchain Ecosystem
Like many in the Web3 space, Dat began as a student—reading, testing, and experimenting with blockchain fundamentals. He gravitated toward projects that were more than hype, those with tangible use cases and thoughtful teams. Over time, his role shifted from learning to actively supporting quality projects, sharing insights, and guiding others through a rapidly evolving ecosystem.
Through these experiences, Dat witnessed the Web3 space mature. In its early days, discussions focused on scalability issues, network congestion, and high transaction costs. But today, Dat sees solutions emerging that are pushing blockchain into real-world applications.
“We’re entering the most exciting phase,” he says. “Web3 is becoming part of everyday life, not just an abstract idea.”
For him, this isn’t just theory—he’s seen firsthand how blockchain is transforming industries, from finance to infrastructure.
Why Infrastructure and DePIN Matter
Among the many areas of Web3, infrastructure projects remain Dat’s greatest interest. He believes that strong infrastructure is the backbone of the next-generation internet, laying the groundwork for everything else. Without it, decentralized applications can’t scale or serve real communities.
That’s why DePIN resonates so deeply with him. By combining IoT with blockchain, DePIN unlocks a new model of connectivity: one that’s secure, transparent, and powered by people rather than centralized providers. To Dat, DePIN represents both the technical foundation and the social promise of Web3—technology built for everyday use, owned by communities worldwide.
Why Dat Chose Uplink
Dat’s introduction to Uplink came when he was researching projects that aimed to solve the problem of wasted internet bandwidth. The idea of a decentralized network where anyone could share unused Wi-Fi capacity immediately caught his attention.
What convinced him to join as both an ambassador and community moderator was the combination of vision and execution he found at Uplink.
He highlights three reasons Uplink stands out:
- Talented Team – Led by CEO Carlos, with CMO Claudia and community manager Mike, the team combines technical excellence with strong communication and community-building skills.
- Innovative Concept – A practical, market-driven solution that reduces wasted bandwidth while expanding affordable connectivity across the globe.
- Strong Funding – Financial support that has already enabled Uplink to connect millions of Wi-Fi routers and scale at a pace unmatched in the DePIN sector.
“Uplink’s greatest strength is its team,” Dat notes. “Their ability to execute has secured funding and partnerships—even with Fortune 500 companies.”
For him, Uplink represents the kind of real-world utility that makes Web3 meaningful.
Life Beyond Web3
When he isn’t moderating community channels or advocating for decentralized connectivity, Dat enjoys a quieter side of life. He often spends time visiting museums and craft villages, places where culture and history intersect with creativity. Music is another outlet—he occasionally sings or plays instruments, a reminder that technology and art can complement each other in surprising ways.
And when asked where he’d like to travel if he could go anywhere today? His answer is quick and playful:
“South Korea—to register routers for x10 points!”
It’s a lighthearted reflection of how deeply embedded Uplink has become in his day-to-day life.
Looking Ahead: Dat’s Vision for Uplink
Dat believes Uplink will have its greatest impact on businesses that rely on uninterrupted internet connectivity—industries where reliability is critical. But he’s equally excited about the role of households across Asia and beyond. By contributing unused bandwidth, everyday people can both benefit from and accelerate the growth of Uplink’s decentralized connectivity model.
He sees Southeast Asia, in particular, as a key region for adoption, thanks to its combination of young, tech-savvy populations and rapidly growing digital economies.
For Dat, the future of Uplink is not just about routers or points—it’s about empowering people with access, ownership, and opportunity.
